PERSINO LE SPINE SONO SPILLI

Persino le spine sono spilli, (Even thorns are pins), on the traditional women’s costume of Sant’Antioco (SU).

The work was born from interaction with the women and the island’s ecosystem, also through the creation of a sculptural garment made of organic materials sourced from the local territory.

The installation brings into dialogue an audiovisual work—narrating the process of working with the community—and the sculptural garment which, through the perishability of its natural fabric, resists the crystallization of roles established by tradition.
