IO, MONTAGNA

An experiential journey that develops alongside and in parallel with the creation of my body is like a mountain; a study on the relationship between the human body and rocky landscapes, between the epidermis—later documented through a photographic project.

A workshop, a daytime experience during festivals, a collateral experience alongside the programming of our shows, but also a project we carry forward in our mountain explorations.

A spatial and sensory accompaniment, a dual discovery: of the landscape and of the intimate relationship the body has with it. I, Mountain invites one to recognize themselves in the rock with which they are in contact, to accept external agents (sun, rain, noises, etc.) as passengers, and to enter a different mode of perception that transcends time as humanly experienced and maintained.

Naked bodies merge with the rock, finding their place, a precise fit in an attempt at fusion and belonging. The body slowly becomes part of the landscape and reaches—sometimes even in formally unnatural positions—an unexpected comfort, a total physical and sensory surrender: in that moment, the shot is taken.

Bodies that traverse landscapes and landscapes traversed by bodies, in a reciprocal process of knowledge and encounter.
